Those who have seen Ghostland Observatory live know that frontman Aaron Behrens was born to dance. His onstage antics have won him comparisons to Michael Jackson or Freddy Mercury—but with long braids and aviator sunglasses. His bandmate, Thomas Turner, looks like a mad scientist with his shiny cape and lab of synthesizers and drums, aided only by the lasers and fog that fill the stage. The Austin duo released their third album Robotique Majestique last year and are already preparing to head back to the studio. But first, they'll trek out to Coachella on Friday to kick out the electro-pop and show Southern California their much ballyhooed dance moves. Decider spoke to Turner beforehand about new lasers, going analog, and old pants.

Playboy magazine will be teaming up with the rock'n'roll community yet again for this year's edition of their Rock the Rabbit series. Hef and the ladies have invited musical artists to put their own spin on the Playboy logo, in conjunction with the magazine's annual Sex and Music special issue, and who, you may ask, have they added to their line up this year? Why, none other than Austin's own Ghostland Observatory.

The bands own design will be scrawled on a number of limited edition t-shirts, which will be available at select Bloomingdale's locations and ShopTheBunny.com. The original designs from the artists themselves will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to Rock the Vote.

I cant believe it!

It hasn't officially been announced yet but according to my sources.. Ghostland Observatory is going to be the musical guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on Wednsday October 17th 2007 at 12:30/11:30c, meaning it comes on just before or after midnight on Tuesday October 16th depending on your time zone if that makes sense, damn you Conan and your crazy time slot.
